Speaking of the holidays, this is our go-to, make-ahead breakfast dish. But we also eat it on non-holidays, on vacations, or when we just want to eat one meal that everyone loves. This is the recipe we use, but we make it our own by using challah bread. It's soft, gooey, and oh-so-good.
We also make a gluten-free version with a gluten-free baguette. But instead of letting this version sit overnight (the GF bread can't handle it), prep the ingredients the night before and assemble the casserole about 20 minutes before you pop it in the oven.
